Why You’re Still So Exhausted, Even When You’re Doing Everything Right

Christian lifestyle blog image about burnout and exhaustion even when doing everything right, with feminine desk setup and coffee.

Have you asked yourself lately,

“Why am I so exhausted?”

Not casually tired.

But deep, bone-level tired.

If you’re a Christian woman leading in business, family, or ministry, you may be doing everything “right.”

  💖 You pray

  💖 You plan

  💖 You show up

  💖 You push through

And yet… you’re running on empty.

In this series, we talked about spiritual and soul exhaustion. If you haven’t watched those yet, start there first. They matter.

But today, we’re talking about something many high-capacity women overlook:

Your body.

🎥 Before you read further, I encourage you to watch the full video here:

This will give you the full context.

Your Exhaustion Is Not Just Spiritual

Years ago, I hit a wall.

I wasn’t just tired.
I was non-functional. Depressed. Disconnected.

After seeking the Lord and examining my emotional health, I discovered something unexpected: I had a B12 deficiency.

Now hear me carefully.

I’m not saying that’s your issue.

But I am saying this:

Your body plays a vital role in your ability to live and lead well.

Christian women sometimes over-spiritualize exhaustion.

  💖 We rebuke it

  💖 We pray through it

  💖 We push past it

But sometimes wisdom looks like bloodwork.
Sometimes obedience looks like sleep.
Sometimes faith looks like honoring your physical design.

  💖 You are spirit

  💖 You are soul

  💖 And you are body

Ignoring one affects the others.

Sleep Matters More Than You Think

Let’s talk rhythms.

I learned something years ago about 90-minute sleep cycles. If you wake in the middle of one, you feel exhausted,  even if you technically slept “long enough.”

For me, seven hours made me more tired than six.

Why?

Because seven interrupted a sleep cycle.

But 4-1/2, 6, or 7-1/2 hours, those worked.

You may not need more sleep.

You may need aligned sleep.

💖 God designed your body with rhythms.
When you honor them, you cooperate with His design.

If you haven’t watched the section in the video where I explain this in detail, go to Timestamp 12:40 and watch that part. It may completely shift how you structure your nights.

Anxiety Creates Physical Exhaustion

Now this is where the body and soul intertwine.

When your mind is racing ahead to... next week, next quarter, next year... your body pays the price.

God commands us not to be anxious.

That is not a suggestion.

It is not condemnation either.

It is invitation.

When you rehearse worry long enough, your nervous system never rests.

  💖 Your muscles tighten

  💖 Your sleep suffers

  💖 Your energy drains

Many women think they are physically exhausted, when in reality, they are mentally overextended.

If you struggle with overthinking, go back and watch Mentally Overwhelmed? from Week 5 in this series on renewing your mind.

That message pairs beautifully with this one.

The 3 P’s That Drain Your Body

Let’s name them again:

  💖 People-pleasing

  💖 Perfectionism

  💖 Procrastination

These are not just mindset issues.

They are energy leaks.

When you try to keep everyone happy, your body stays in stress mode.

When you believe your best is never enough, you never rest.

When you procrastinate because you’re afraid, your nervous system lives in low-grade tension.

Peace is the P you actually need.

And peace requires boundaries.

If you haven’t started the series “Why You Feel Exhausted (and how God is leading you out of it)” yet, make that your next step after watching the video below.

This is how you begin to lead from a place of rest…not pressure.

This is how you build sustainable leadership.

You Were Given Today,  Not Tomorrow

One of the most freeing truths in this entire series is this:

You are not given tomorrow.

You are given today.

Not next month’s launch.
Not next year’s results.
Not future what-ifs.

Today.

When you live in tomorrow mentally, your body lives in stress physically.

When you replay yesterday’s guilt, your body carries it.

But when you focus on today, your nervous system calms.

Today has enough grace.

Today has enough strength.

Today is enough.

This Is Not God’s Will for You

Chronic exhaustion is not your identity.

Fatigue is not your destiny.

God has called you to peace, clarity, and steady leadership...not frantic striving.

But here’s the key:

You must address spirit, soul, and body.

If you’ve only examined one, you may miss the full picture.

So here’s your next step:

🎥 Watch this video below if you haven’t already:

🎥 Then go back and watch the series: “Why You Feel Exhausted (and how God is leading you out of it)”
🎥 Finish with Mentally Overwhelmed?

This is not just information.

This is alignment.

You were created to finish well.

And yes, that includes your physical well-being.
