Before You Walk Away...Ask This First

I want to talk to you, just you and me, for a minute.

Is that ok?

There have been times, even very recently, when I’ve looked at what was in front of me and thought:

“This is way too much…” or,
“Why is it taking so long…” or,
“I don’t know if I can keep going…”

It wasn’t that my relationship with God had changed.

I hadn't stopped believing He had called me.

It just felt too hard.

Have you felt that way?

Not that you're wanting to quit…
but thinking these thoughts?

This Is Where It Gets Confusing

It can be confusing, because when something feels this hard…

you may start questioning.

“Did I hear God wrong?”
“Am I really supposed to be doing this?”
“Why does this feel so heavy if it’s from Him?”

And that’s where you can get stuck.

Because there are actually two different things happening…

and they feel very similar.

Not Every “I Can’t Do This” Means the Same Thing

Sometimes…

  💖 You are in a spiritual battle
  💖 And you need to stay

But other times…

  💖 You are carrying something God never asked you to carry
  💖 And you need to release it

And if you don’t stop and ask Him…

you will either:

  💖 Quit something He asked you to do
  💖 Or keep carrying something He never gave you

This Is The Question That Changes Everything

Instead of asking:

“Should I quit?”

Ask:

“Lord, is this actually mine?”

Because This Is True

When you carry something God never asked you to carry…

you move outside of His grace for that thing.

And that’s why it feels so heavy.

I Had To Learn This The Hard Way

There've been times I felt like quitting…

and the answer wasn’t simple.

It wasn’t just:

“Keep going no matter what.”

And it wasn’t:

“Walk away.”

It was:

“Come back to Me.”

So… What Do You Do?

This is the time when you need to go back to Him.

You ask:

“Lord, is this from You?”

And then you listen.

If The Answer Is Yes…

If you sense God saying, "Yes, this is from Me." You stay.

How? In obedience, trusting Him.

Because God is faithful.

You’re not doing this in your strength.

He will help you… and give you what you need… one step at a time.

So, you take the next step.

And if you don’t know the next step?

Ask Him.

If You Ask Him And The Answer Is No…

If you sense God saying, "No, this isn't from Me," you must release it.

How? In obedience, trusting Him.

Yes, it may be something good. Something really good.

Even if people expect it.

Even if you’ve always done it.

You don’t know who will do it if you don’t?

God knows.

Let Him take care of it.

If He didn’t ask you to carry it… you must not.

This Is Where Peace Begins

Peace doesn’t come because everything is done.

Or because life gets easier.

Peace comes when you carry only what God has given you.
