God Is Working Even When You Donโt See Results Yet
You Might Not Be in That Season.
You kept going.
Of course you did.
That’s who you are.
You don’t walk away from what God has put in front of you.
But now…
you’re sitting there thinking:
“I don’t know what to do next.”
I’ve been there.
Not years ago.
Recently.

Timestamp: 1:35 God Works in Seasons (The Gardening Analogy)
I remember talking to the Lord and saying,
“Lord… I’m trying to figure this out,
and I don’t know what You want me to do.”
I was looking for clarity.
Direction.
Something to move me forward.
And instead…
I felt like I was just sitting there.
Waiting.
What I didn’t realize at the time…
was that I was expecting the wrong season.
I thought I was in a season of harvest.
I was looking for fruit.
For results.
For something to show me that what I was doing was working.
But God showed me something that changed everything.
He showed me I wasn’t in a season of harvest.
I was in a season of preparation.
Tilling and sowing.
If you’ve ever watched someone prepare a garden…
you know what that looks like.
The soil gets turned over.
Everything gets stirred up.
Nothing looks finished.
Nothing looks productive.
It doesn’t look like anything is happening.
But that’s not true.
That’s where everything begins.

If you've gotten caught up in comparing yourself, or copying others, thinking your life should look just like theirs…
you may be in a different season than they are...
remember God created you uniquely for His purpose.

That’s what God was doing in me.
And I didn’t recognize it at first.
Because it didn’t look like progress.
It looked like:
๐ Waiting
๐ Questions
๐ Uncertainty
Have you felt like that?
Like you’ve been praying…
and waiting…
and wondering why nothing is happening yet?
One of the things God showed me was:
It’s not that nothing is happening.
But it may be that I’m not ready for the harvest yet.
That’s not discouraging.
It’s actually hopeful.
Because it means…
God is working.
I just didn't understand that He was working on me.

He began drawing me back to Himself.
Not just to read my Bible or pray for five minutes.
But to sit with Him, at His feet.
Listening.
Paying attention.
That made me realize I hadn't been praying as much.
I wasn't really meditating on His Word, though I was in it.
I was moving very fast, and thought I knew what I was supposed to do...
So, in that busyness, I had stopped asking Him for direction on the little things.
I wasn't asking Him this simple question every day:
“Lord… what do You want me to do today?”
(and sometimes more than once a day)
David in Psalms asked God for detailed direction.
Do you want me to do this?
Then, when the answer was yes, "Do you want me to do it this way?"
Do you come to God asking for His leading?
Today?
This moment?
When I began asking that again…
He answered.
He showed me...Just one. Step.

The next step He shows you may be very small.
So small you almost miss it.
But God reminded me of an analogy He's worked out in my life over and over since I gave my life to Him fifty years ago.
There are seasons.
You don’t rush God’s seasons. You can’t.
There's no way you can skip the preparation of the soil of your heart.
Nor would I want to, really.
It's just that it's a hard season. But, necessary.
If you’re in a place right now where you don’t know what to do next…
and you've been expecting to see some fruit...you would really like to see results!
It doesn't mean you’re stuck.
Or that you're doing things wrong.
It may mean that…
God is preparing something in you
before He does something through you.
So, instead of trying to figure everything out…
just go back to Him.
Sit at His feet.
And, ask Him:
“Lord… what do You want me to do today?”
When He shines His light on the path in front of you and shows you where your foot should step next…
take the step He shows. Obey.
Even if it wasn't what you expected.
Even if it feels like this is taking forever.
Because He knows exactly what He’s doing.
You will be exactly where He wants you at exactly the right time, if you follow Him.
You won't be late.
God's never late. Not one second.
๐ If you’re feeling heavy or unclear right now…
maybe it's not about what you should do next.
It may be about what you’re carrying,
that God never meant for you to hold.
๐ Here's your next step: Lead Yourself First
He’s writing a story in your life.
And, it's going to be beautiful...
But, He’s not finished.
