Overwhelmed Christian Woman, Give Yourself Permission to Rest
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
Have you ever pushed through exhaustion thinking, “I’ll rest after I check every box”… only to regret it afterward?
Have you ever said to yourself:
“I’m exhausted. Nobody even knows how tired I am… but I’ve got to keep going.”
Christian woman leader, I want to gently tell you something:
The world will not come to an end if you rest.

In this week’s video, I share practical, faith-driven strategies for releasing unnecessary pressure, trusting God with your schedule, and leading from rest instead of resentment.

Stop the Grind, Bring God Back to the Center
When exhaustion hits, pause.
Before pushing harder, ask:
π Is this essential?
π Or am I trying to prove something?
π Am I operating from calling, or from pressure?
So often, the voice saying “keep going” is not God.
God is not impressed by your grind.
He is pleased by your trust.
Matthew 11:28 is not poetic fluff. It is instruction.
He invites you to lay down what is heavy.
Christian leadership is not hustle culture baptized.
It is surrender.

Clear the Plate: Evaluate and Delegate
Look at your to-do list today.
Not tomorrow. Today.
Ask the Lord:
π What can be crossed off entirely?
π What does not need to be done this month?
π What can be delegated?
Far too many Christian women leaders carry responsibilities that were never assigned by God.
If you are doing 100% of the tasks, you are likely operating outside your design.
Focus on your 20%...the area where you are most called, most gifted, most energized.
Everything else?
Either eliminate it…
Or pray specifically:
“Lord, send someone who is gifted at this.”
He answers those prayers.

Use Tools Wisely, Steward Your Energy
Let’s talk practically.
If tech drains you, find someone who thrives in it.
If repetitive tasks exhaust you, automate them.
Tools like custom GPT systems and AI can dramatically reduce time spent on administrative work.
Used ethically and wisely, they are stewardship tools, not shortcuts.
Time-blocking is another powerful structure.
But here’s the key:
Time-block with flexibility.
π Move blocks when needed
π Reschedule without guilt
π Shift tasks to your high-energy hours
When you are rested, you produce more in less time.
When you push through exhaustion, quality suffers.
And eventually, so does your heart.

Trust God to Adjust Your Schedule
Sometimes God rearranges your calendar.
A cancellation.
A delay.
An unexpected interruption.
Not coincidence. Providence.
There have been times when I looked at my schedule and thought, “This is impossible.”
And then, something was removed.
An event canceled.
A meeting postponed.
Space created.
Psalm 31:15 says:
“My times are in thy hand.”
Does God care about your schedule?
Yes.
Yes, friend.
He does.
Commit your calendar to Him. Pray over it. Ask Him to remove what does not belong.
Then trust Him.
When you don't hear God's direction clearly, remember that God uniquely created you for His purpose, not someone else’s, and wants you to find it.
You can read more about that here: Uniquely Created by God for a Purpose

Give Yourself Permission to Rest
If you need someone to say it, here you go:
It’s okay to stop.
It’s okay to move a block.
It’s okay to rest now and work later.
It’s okay to say, “I will do that tomorrow.”
You are not lazy.
You are not weak.
You are not irresponsible.
You are human.
And you are loved.
When you work exhausted, resentment creeps in.
When you rest first, ministry flows from joy.
π Rest resets your creativity
π Rest protects your heart
π Rest strengthens your leadership
God is not a slave driver.
He may want to give you an idea.
He may want to shift your approach.
He may want to remove something entirely.
But you won’t hear Him clearly if you never pause.

Conclusion: Thrive, Don’t Just Survive
Exhaustion is not your identity.
You are not defined by your output.
You are defined by Christ.
This week:
π Cross off one unnecessary task
π Delegate one draining responsibility
π Move one block without guilt
π Rest intentionally
Then watch what God does with the space.
You are seen.
You are loved.
You are enough, even when you rest.
