Stop Chasing People’s Approval: How Christian Women Leaders Can Live for His “Well Done”
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
Matthew 25:21
If you are exhausted, there’s a question worth asking:
Are you tired from obedience…
Or from performance?
Many Christian women leaders are not physically exhausted first.
They are emotionally exhausted.
Why?
Sometimes it's because they are chasing approval (it's easy to get caught up in people-pleasing).

Now let’s go deeper.
In this week’s video on exhaustion, we talked about spirit, soul, and body fatigue.
But here’s something we must address:
People-pleasing is spiritually exhausting.
The Hidden Exhaustion of Performing for People
We say yes when we should pause.
We accept invitations because we don’t want to disappoint.
We scroll social media and measure our value by reactions.
We do things we don’t even enjoy… because we want to be liked.
That is not leadership.
That is performance.
And performance is draining.
When your identity is tied to people’s reactions, you will never feel finished.
There will always be:
💖 One more person to impress
💖 One more opportunity to accept
💖 One more comparison to measure against
No wonder you’re tired.

The Truth: You Answer to Jesus
At the end of your life, you will not answer to:
💖 Church committees
💖 Business peers
💖 Extended family expectations
You will answer to Christ.
And what do you want to hear?
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
That does not mean:
💖 Doing everything
💖 Being everywhere
💖 Pleasing everyone
It means faithfulness.
Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6 that we cannot serve two masters (God and mammon).
You cannot serve both God and people's approval, either.
One will exhaust you.
One will free you.

If you've gotten caught up in comparison, feeling "less than," remember that God uniquely created you for His purpose, not anyone else’s, and He wants you to find it.
You can read more about that here: Uniquely Created by God for a Purpose
The Power of Unique Calling
God made you uniquely.
💖 Your gifts
💖 Your wiring
💖 Your capacity
If you spend your life trying to be what someone else needs you to be, you will dilute your calling, maybe miss it completely.
Exhaustion often signals misalignment.
When you focus on what only you can do, the assignments God has placed in your hands, two things happen:
💖 Your work gains impact
💖 Your heart regains peace
Getting clear on your identity eliminates exhaustion.
Pressure to perform and please people increases it.
How to Stop the Cycle of People-Pleasing
Let’s make this practical.
💖 Evaluate your most recent “Yes”
Why did you say yes? Guilt? Fear? Ego? Or God’s leading?
💖 Practice saying "No"
Boundaries are spiritual protection.
💖 Replace the desire for applause
When you crave validation, pause and ask:
“What has God actually asked of me?” and ask God to increase your desire for His approval.
💖 Allow rest points
You cannot recharge while constantly performing
💖 Redirect your focus
Turn your eyes to Jesus in front of you today.

The Kingdom Invitation
When you stop living for validation, something beautiful happens.
You begin to:
💖 Lead from peace
💖 Make calmer decisions
💖 Operate from calling instead of comparison
💖 Serve without resentment
That is rested leadership.
That is sustainable influence.
That is how you finish well.
Because perfectionism and people-pleasing are cousins.
And both are exhausting.

It’s Not About Being Liked, It’s About Being Faithful
Yesterday, you may have performed.
Today, you can choose obedience.
Your worth is not measured in applause.
It is secured in Christ.
When you live for His “Well done,” something shifts:
💖 You stop chasing
💖 You start aligning
💖 You rest without guilt
And exhaustion begins to loosen its grip.
