When You Don’t Know What To Do Next… Stay Here
When You Don’t Know What To Do Next… Stay Here
There are moments when I’ve gone to the Lord…
not because something felt heavy…
but because I didn’t know what to do next.
Nothing was wrong.

I just didn’t know what He wanted me to do.
I’ve sat there with my Bible open…
and my calendar...
looking at my day.
Looking at my list.
And thinking,
“Lord… what do You want me to do now?”
I used to think I needed to figure it out.
Look at everything.
Weigh my options.
Make a decision.
Push forward.
And I thought that it would always be obvious!
God would always have me moving forward!
Now I know that's not true.
I stop.
Not because I’m stuck…
but because I’ve learned to wait on Him first.
There have been days when I’ve had a full plan.
Everything laid out.
Time blocks set.
And I’ve brought it to Him:
“Is this what You want me to do today?”

If you've gotten caught up in comparing your to-do list, your accomplishments, or what you are supposed to do... with anyone else…
Here's your reminder that God created you uniquely for His purpose.

Some days He doesn't change a thing.
I move through the day exactly as I planned.
Other times…
I know He's telling me to change something.
It may be a minor adjustment.
Do things in a different order.
Start here instead of here.
Other days, something I thought I would do… He takes off my list.
And then sometimes something I hadn’t planned at all for that day may become the focus.
It’s not necessarily dramatic.
It’s often quiet.
I’ve learned not to rush past that.
I'm learning to listen. To ask, and then wait.
Psalm 119:105
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
That’s how He leads me.
Not by showing me everything at once.
Just enough for where I am and the next step.
There have been times I’ve sat there longer than I expected.
Waiting, praying, listening...with an open heart and a surrendered will.
And, I may not feel that I heard anything right away.

So I stay.
I read.
I pray.
I sit with Him.
I ask Him again.
And soon…
something becomes clear.
Not always a big direction.
Sometimes just…
“This.”
And I take that step.
Then later… another.
There’s a steadiness in that.
Not because I know everything.
But because I’m walking with Him.
In obedience.

Final Thought
You don’t have to figure out the whole day...week...month...year...
You don’t have to decide everything ahead of time.
You can plan, but take your plans to Him, before, during, and after.
Come to Him.
Stay with Him.
And take the step He shows you.
